My journey began in southwest Iowa where I attended a 1 room country school. Mayflower No. 5 was 1 1/2 miles away. Funny
how my parents made sure I was there on time in the morning, but would let me walk home after school.
We moved to a farm outside of Griswold, Iowa during my 1st grade year. I graduated from there and attended Westmar College,
LeMars, Iowa majoring in Mathematics with minors in German and History.
As I neared graduation, I interviewed for teaching jobs, each ending with the request for my permission to call the draft
board to determine my status. That summer was spent working on my PhD ( post hole digging) degree. This was an excellent motivator
and provided clarity of thought, so when things had calmed down in August, a teaching job was offered on the Missouri
border, and I was ready. Three years later I moved to The Orient for 5 years, and then to eastern Iowa. I do intend
to write books based on these experiences, so contact me for the advance editions prior to general publishing. $25 will get
this taken care of(to be continued)
